CCF Tea: A Gentle Ayurvedic Digestive Remedy for Modern Life

When Digestion Feels Heavy

Bloating. Sluggishness. Post-meal discomfort.

In Ayurveda, these signs often indicate weakened Agni — the digestive fire. One of the simplest traditional remedies is CCF tea, made from three kitchen spices:

  • Cumin

  • Coriander

  • Fennel

Together, they gently stimulate digestion without overheating the body.

Why These Three Spices?

Each ingredient has a role:

  • Cumin (Jeeraka)

Stimulates Agni and reduces gas.

  • Coriander (Dhanyaka)

Cooling and soothing; supports Pitta balance.

  • Fennel (Madhurika)

Relieves bloating and softens intestinal tension.

Together, they:

* Improve digestion

* Reduce Ama (toxins)

* Calm mild inflammation

* Support nutrient absorption

How To Make CCF Tea

Ingredients:

• ½ tsp cumin seeds

• ½ tsp coriander seeds

• ½ tsp fennel seeds

• 2 cups water

Instructions:

1. Lightly crush seeds.

2. Boil in water for 8–10 minutes.

3. Strain and sip warm.

Best time: After meals or between meals.

Dosha Suitability

Vata → Excellent (serve warm)

Pitta → Very good (avoid excess ginger)

Kapha → Good, but can add fresh ginger for stimulation

When To Avoid

* Severe dehydration

* Very high Pitta symptoms (burning acidity)

* Pregnancy (use cautiously)

A Gentle Reflection

Healing does not always require complexity. Sometimes balance begins with a warm cup of spice-infused water.
